Fine Art Prints: “Dancing Helix”
These framed images are two of the “Dancing Helix” designs shown in the gallery (above). The print on the left is the “ultramarine-rose” design shown in the gallery. The print on the right is a version of the “cadmium-cobalt-yellow” design, modified to fit a custom size.
Did you know that DNA is packaged into chromosomes that move and bend? They “dance” to activate genes to make our biology function correctly. These genome-themed paintings celebrate this dynamic quality of our genome.
Check out “Artist for Genomics” for more about my materials and methods to make us genome-literate. And for the science that inspires me, read about the Human Genome Project, “one of the great feats of scientific exploration.”
